Keep the files available to your tools
NotesMD makes notes available as Markdown files in a folder you choose on your Mac. That is useful when you want your writing to remain accessible to a text editor, an AI tool or another workflow that works directly with files.
Choose a folder you can recognize
Start with a clear location for your notes. Write a small note, then check its Markdown file in that folder. When you use another tool to edit or organize those files, review the result before treating a larger change as finished.
Understand the sync path
The published app describes CloudKit sync without relying on iCloud Drive. That can be useful where an organization blocks iCloud Drive, although account access and workplace policies still determine whether sync works. Built-in Apple Intelligence can edit notes and organize folders on supported systems; you can also choose your own file-based tools.
