Tab Overview is a Chrome extension that shows your open tabs as a grid of thumbnails, so you can find the one you want by looking at it. Everything it does happens inside your own browser. We do not collect, receive, sell, or share your data. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server of ours involved.
To draw the grid, the extension reads the title, address, and icon of each tab you have open, and takes a picture of the tab you are currently viewing. This is the same information Chrome already shows you in your own tab bar.
Thumbnails are saved locally through Chrome's extension storage, on your computer. They are never uploaded. Each thumbnail is deleted automatically when you close its tab, and leftover entries are cleared when Chrome restarts. Removing the extension deletes everything it has stored.
For tabs that have no thumbnail yet, the grid shows the preview image that the page itself publishes - the same picture that appears when a link is shared in a messaging app. Your browser loads that image directly from the website that published it, exactly as it would if you visited the page. None of this is routed through us.
Tabs - to list your open tabs, and to switch to or close one when you click its card.
Storage - to keep thumbnails on your device so the grid appears instantly.
Scripting - to read a page's own preview image tag for tabs with no thumbnail. Page content is not read, changed, or transmitted.
Access to websites you visit - required by Chrome's screenshot function, which refuses to run without it. It is used only to capture the picture of the tab you are currently viewing.
No analytics. No advertising. No tracking. No selling of data. Your browsing information is never transmitted to us or to any third party, and is never used for creditworthiness or lending purposes.
Tab Overview does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
