KidsBookAI turns a child's idea into a short, illustrated picture book. The app is on-device and private by default: stories and illustrations are generated and stored locally, and we do not collect, sell, or receive any of your data.
Stories, characters, and page images are saved locally on your device using SwiftData. Nothing is collected, sold, or sent to us. You can delete any book at any time from within the app.
Title, story, and image-prompt generation all run on-device via Apple's FoundationModels framework. No prompts or generated outputs leave your device.
KidsBookAI can present the system Image Playground sheet to generate illustrations. Image Playground runs on-device. If you pick a source person from your Photos library as part of the generation, that source stays local to your device and is not uploaded anywhere by KidsBookAI.
Translations are performed on-device using Apple's Translation framework. For non-English locales, a one-time language model download may be needed; that download is handled by the operating system, not by KidsBookAI.
The read-aloud feature uses AVSpeechSynthesizer with voices that are already installed on your device. No audio is recorded, uploaded, or sent to our servers.
If you choose a non-Apple provider to generate a story, KidsBookAI copies a story prompt to your clipboard and opens that provider's own app. You decide what to paste and send. KidsBookAI does not auto-transmit any data to these providers, and any data you share with them is governed by their own privacy policies.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Continued use of the app means acceptance of the updated policy, and any significant changes will be noted on this page with an updated date.
